On Wednesday, September 27, 2023, the Faculty of Environment held the 2023 ENV Moon Festival (Mid-Autumn Festival) in the courtyard of EV1. The Deans, professors and supporting staff within the faculty and related university units attended this event, warmly welcoming and sending their good wishes to our students. Many of the students and some staff shared their performances in the celebration, bringing the atmosphere to a crescendo.

It is with great sadness that we share the news of Stephanie Ye-Mowe’s passing, a student in the Faculty of Environment and former WUSA President. She is remembered as a fierce advocate and genuine leader.

This fall, 600+ undergraduate and 200+ graduate students will begin studies in Environment. Whether you are a new or returning student, kickstart your fall with a review of how our faculty can help you in and out of the classroom.

Three students took part on a lifetime field trip to Bali, Indonesia with Professor Doberstein. Come along with Bethany Elizabeth, and Katherine as they share why they wanted to join the field trip, what skills they developed and the impact the experience has left on them. 

Students from the Faculty of Environment were second place winners at this year's Esri Canada GIS Centres of Excellence Competition (ECCE App Challenge). Congratulations to Ben Woodward, Paramvir Singh, and Gabriel Diniz!

Over 200 graduating students, faculty members, and staff came together at Federation Hall to celebrate the incredible Class of ’23! Attendees indulged in delicious food, heard from past Environment valedictorians, and took group photos to mark the occasion.

Two Waterloo students are among the top recipients of The Starfish Canada's environmentalist award. Congratulations to Michelle Angkasa and Sriranjini Raman for being awarded the Top 25 Under 25 Environmentalists.
