GI faculty members Drs. Kristina Llewellyn and Jim Wallace have been selected to be amongst the 10 HeForShe faculty advocates for 2019-2020.
HeForShe is a United Nations (UN) global solidarity movement dedicated to gender equality. It also works to engage men and boys in removing the social and cultural barriers that continue to supress women. UWaterloo President, Fredinand Hamdullaphur accepted at invitation from the HeForShe campaign to participate in their IMPACT 10x10x10 framework.
“The main role of the faculty advocate is to engage with students, faculty, staff and alumni regarding faculty-specific gender equity issues, work to address problematic areas, and foster a gender-equitable faculty and campus.”
