Moccasins

Pair of children's moccasins.

Moccasins, loosely translating to “footwear” in various Algonquian languages are footwear made and worn by Indigenous peoples. Often made of animal hide, they are sacred expressions of the Indigenous journey, allowing Indigenous people to travel on Mother Earth with honour and respect. The moccasins displayed in the cabinet are children’s moccasins featuring bead work, fur linings, and leather straps, showcasing Indigenous artistry and craftsmanship.
