In celebration of the Applied Health Sciences (AHS) convocation, retired Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield presents a special guest lecture for AHS students, faculty and staff on Tuesday, June 10 from 2 to 3 p.m.

As Commander of the International Space Station, Col. Hadfield captivated the world with his stories and photos from space. As a participant in numerous onboard experiments, including two led by University of Waterloo kinesiology professor Richard Hughson, he continues to advance our understanding of health in space and on earth. Hadfield will share his discoveries in this exclusive lecture: Body, Mind and Space: Insights Gained in Orbit.

Col. Hadfield’s contributions will be honoured earlier in the day as he receives an honorary doctor of science degree at the Applied Health Sciences convocation ceremony.
