Steps to hiring co-op students

  1. Visit key sections of our website:
  2. Visit WaterlooWorks to log in and post a job
    1. If you've already recruited with us in JobMine, just reset your password 
    2. If this is your first time hiring at UWaterloo, create an account
  3. Sit back and relax:
    • Once CECA reviews and approves your job, it will be available for students to view and apply to on WaterlooWorks
    • You'll receive an email confirmation when your applications are available to review 
  4. Review résumés of applicants online through WaterlooWorks and/or on your own if students applied directly to you.
  5. Select the applicants you wish to interview online through WaterlooWorks.
  6. Create your interview schedule or contact us for assistance.
  7. Interview students at the Tatham Centre on Waterloo's campus or by telephone or Skype/webcam.
  8. Following interviews, rank your desired applicant(s) through WaterlooWorks 
  9. We will notify you by email about your match results.
    • Match results will appear on your WaterlooWorks dashboard in the 'My Hires' tab
  10. Didn't get a match?
    • We will contact you.
    • Not to worry. If you didn't receive a match in the first interview cycle, you'll have more opportunities in other interview cycles.

Steps to hiring graduating students

  1. Visit key sections of our website:
  2. Visit WaterlooWorks to log in and post a job
    1. If you've already recruited with us in JobMine, just reset your password 
    2. If this is your first time hiring at UWaterloo, create an account
    3. Graduating students must apply through WaterlooWorks, but they can also apply directly to you.
      • If you wish to interview on Waterloo's campus, please provide us with an interview date at this time
  3. Sit back and relax:
    • Once CECA reviews and approves your job, it will be available for students to view and apply to on WaterlooWorks
    • You'll receive an email confirmation when your applications are available to review 
  4. Review résumés either through WaterlooWorks, or on your own if students applied directly to you.
  5. Interview students:
    • Select your preferred method of interviewing:
      • Interview candidates at the Tatham Centre on Waterloo's campus and connect with one of our staff to create your schedule.
      • Conduct interviews at your own site and connect with candidates directly to make interview arrangements.

Steps to hiring full-time alumni, or non-co-op students for summer or part-time work

  1. Visit key sections of our website:
  2. Visit WaterlooWorks to log in and post a job
    1. If you've already recruited with us in JobMine, just reset your password 
    2. If this is your first time hiring at UWaterloo, create an account
    3. Indicate how alumni or students are to send their résumés to you. They apply to you directly.
  3. Sit back and relax:
    • Once CECA reviews and approves your job, it will be available for students to view and apply to on WaterlooWorks
    • You'll receive an email confirmation when your applications are available to review 
  4. Review résumés.
  5. Select the applicants you wish to interview and contact them directly.
  6. Interview students:
    • Contact candidates to make interview arrangements at your site or at the Tatham Centre on Waterloo's campus.
  7. Following interviews, you can contact applicants directly to extend job offers.
