Library ambassadors: written by Neha Hussaini

Hey guys! My name is Neha Hussaini, and I’m currently in my third year of Kinesiology. Okay, first of all, I can’t believe that I’m halfway done my undergrad? Between my many all-nighters and my terrible life decisions, the past 2 years have flown by.

In all seriousness though, the past 2 years have been great. I love what I’m studying and the unique experiences I get to have (namely the cadaver lab!), and I’m so thankful for all the amazing people I’ve met, whether it was through classes, work, or through clubs.

This is my first time being a Library Ambassador, and honestly, I love it! Having heard great things about it, I came into it, and I’m glad to say, I was not disappointed. I really love being able to interact with different types of people, as well as inform people about the services my second home (aka the library) offers. With that being said, I think the best part about this job would be working with my amazing co-workers. Everyone is so friendly and helpful, but best of all, they all take responsibility for their actions. They come to work enthusiastic, ready to take on any challenges that come their way. If any one of us needs help, we know help is just a message away.

Library ambassadors in front of Dana Porter LibraryUs being accountable to each other, I know all of us trust each other. This trust allows us to be comfortable around each other, and also become more confident when going up to students we may not know.

As a Library Ambassador, we are in charge of planning an event that we would love to see on campus. This semester, my team is continuing the tradition put into place by one of our fellow Library ambassadors by having another Harry Potter event! While planning an event is a lot of work, it’s been smooth so far. My team is great; we are all able to pitch in equally, and I don’t have to worry about doing more than my fair share. I know they have my back, and they know I have theirs.

I’m very excited to have students participate in our project. Come out to test how well you know the Harry Potter-verse and maybe in a fun Harry Potter-themed prizes!

Hope to see you soon,

Neha
