TAX 616 - Tax Research and Statutory Interpretation

Matthew is a tax partner at a national accounting firm and specializes in providing complex tax advice to privately held businesses and the families that own them. Over his career, Matthew has had extensive involvement with groups that are shaping tax education in Canada. He has served as a member of the Board of Examiners for the Common Final Examination (CFE) of the CPA profession and contributed to CPA Canada’s Income Tax Education Committee (ITEC) for several years, including as Chair. He is a current member of the CPA Ontario Accreditation Review Committee (ARC). Matthew has been recognized for his contributions to teaching and the CPA profession by receiving the CPA Canada Gold Medal, the CPA Ontario Emerging Leader Award, and the University of Waterloo School of Accounting and Finance Young Alumni Award.
