Procurement & Contract Services wants to help you go green!
As a campus community, we all have a role in the impact University of Waterloo has on the Environment. This does not only pertain to our large acquisitions, but probably even more so to the smaller more repetitive purchasing decisions we all make every day. We invite you to use the tools & information on this page so that collectively we can all make a difference.
The University of Waterloo supports environmentally positive initiatives. Our goals are to pursue sound life cycle choices whenever possible and to encourage our suppliers to strive towards not just environmentally progressive goods, but to aggressively pursue increasingly superior environmentally preferable products.
The University of Waterloo will always consider environmentally superior product choices in our procurement decisions, and will, when appropriate, factor a certain percentage of cost towards superior environmental goods and services.
The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Office of Indigenous Relations.
