Did you know that the University of Waterloo has an Equestrian Club?
"You are never a perfect rider, you always have something to learn, no matter how talented or experienced you are.” – Delaney, AFM student
As I saw a curious bunch of newly admitted students at You @ Waterloo Day, I was reminded of myself four years ago when I was also trying to make that same perplexing decision of which university and program to enroll in.
My name is Jared, and I am a 3rd year student in the Accounting and Financial Management program at the University of Waterloo. This term I signed up to be an upper-year mentor, and I just thought that I would share my experiences with the role.
When I saw the opportunity to be an upper-year mentor this term with the School of Accounting and Finance (SAF), I knew I had to take it.
We all know that it’s impossible to foresee everything. In some courses here at the University of Waterloo, you’ll learn about something called risk—the effect of uncertainty on desired outcomes. Admittedly, the Student Venture Fund (SVF) is one of those courses where you really should care about the negatives of risk. However, the Fund itself very much represented the opposite for me.
How Zero Work set me on the path for future success
Looking to prepare for your first co-op experience? Zero Work is an asset you don’t want to miss out on!
My name is Rachel and I am a first-year Accounting and Financial Management (AFM) student. I stumbled upon Zero Work in my first term, and now I’m here to spread the word about my incredible experience!
Hey School of Accounting and Finance (SAF)!
We are Accounting and Financial Management (AFM) students Janvi, Hufsah, Nicole, and Rohun and we are happy to announce that we emerged with a first-place victory in the accounting portion of the Eclipse Case Competition that took place earlier in February!
AFM and SFM sound similar, right? They share more similarities than students realize. However, the key differences between the two programs distinctly separate them as unique educational pathways. As an incoming student, all the information available may appear overwhelming to the point where you may question what exactly the distinctions between the programs are. I’ll give a quick rundown of the similarities and differences between AFM and SFM, and provide some insight into the programs that may be of interest to them.
