The University of Waterloo has a research license with Autodesk that includes the following packages:
- AutoCAD
- Fusion 360
- Inventor
- Revit
- 3DS MAX
- TinkerCAD
- Maya
This license is for research and research support purposes only.
Create an account
- Go to Autodesk education and student access
- Click "Get Started."
- Select your educational role and click "Next"
- If you select "Student," input your date of birth
- Enter your first name, last name, UWaterloo email address (yourWatIAMuserid@uwaterloo.ca) and a password.
- Check the box agreeing to the Autodesk Privacy Statement and Terms of Use then click "Create Account."
- Verify your email address by opening the email that Autodesk sends you and clicking on the verification link.
Install software
- Go to Autodesk education and student access
- Scroll down the list of Autodesk products. On the software you wish to download, click "Get started"
- Input your details: email, name, educational role, country, and institution
- If you are a student, input your date of birth, enrollment date, and graduation date
- Click "Confirm"
- You should see a message saying "You're confirmed!" Click "Get Autodesk software"
- You should be on the same page: Autodesk education and student access. Click "Get product" underneath the software you wish to install.
- Select your operating system, version of the software, and language. Click "Install".
- Click "Accept"
- Download and run the setup file
