AVD

Purpose of the AVD

The purpose of the AVD is to remotely deliver software to students and instructors for teaching purposes. This avoids issues with installing software on the student's local device.

Signing in to the AVD

1. Go to https://www.avd.uwaterloo.ca/.
2. Enter your WatIAM credentials where prompted and click "Sign In".
   • Email: yourWatIAMuserid@uwaterloo.ca
   • Password: yourWatIAM password
3. Authenticate the 2FA prompt.
4. Optionally click "Yes" on the "Stay signed in?" prompt.
5. Click the desired icon (e.g. Matlab)
6. An "Access local resources" window will appear, select the desired resources from the list then click "Allow".
7. Enter your WatIAM credentials again when prompted then click "Submit".

Signing out of the AVD

1. Click the user icon in the top right corner.
2. Click "Sign Out".

AVD Software List

The best way to view the currently available software is to log into the AVD.
