Install a Ricoh printer by IP address - MacOS
- Go to the Richoh Support and Download webpage and in the "Search for downloads" box, type in the specific printer model for the drivers you are looking for (e.g. IM C3010, IM 5000, IM 500).
- Underneath the "Drivers" tab, click on the printer model which will bring you to a new window.
- Click "I Agree" to the "Software License Agreement".
- The webpage will try to detect your operating system, however you can select "Choose other OS" if it didn't detect the correct one.
- Click the blue "Download" button underneath "PPD Installer."
- Open the downloaded "RicohDriverName.dmg" file, double-click on the "RicohDriverName.pkg" file, and follow the installation prompts.
- On the top left corner, open "Apple Menu (Apple Icon)" > "System Settings" > "Printers & Scanners".
- Click "Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax..." button to add a printer.
- Click "IP (Globe Icon)" at the top to add the printer by IP address.
- In the "Address" field, type in the IP address of the printer (There should be a label on the printer. If not, click the printer display to wake it up and then click "Check status" at the lower right to display the printer IP address).
- For the protocol, select the "Line Printer Daemon - LPD" option from the drop down menu (This option is appropriate for most modern printers).
- If the LPD protocol does not work, try the IPP protocol, and then the HP JetDirect protocol in this order.
- The "Name" field will autofill with the IP address, but you can give it a friendly name.
- In the "Use" field, click "Select Software..." from the dropdown menu. Find the Ricoh driver for the printer model you wish to install and click "OK".
- Click "Add".
- The printer should now be added and you can print a test page to make sure it's working correctly.
- Note: Printing a test page may not work if Accounting (a code to print) has been setup on the printer. Please print a document of your choice with your Accounting code to make sure it's working.
