Install a Ricoh printer by IP address - Mac

  1. Search the web for the Ricoh printer model you are trying to add (e.g. IM C3010, IM 5000, IM 500).
  2. Look for a link to the ricoh.com site that says, "<model name> Downloads" and open it.
  3. The webpage will try to guess your operating system, so something like, "MacOS Sonoma" should be displayed. If it doesn't match the operating system you want the installer for, then click "Choose other OS" and select your operating system from the list.
  4. Click the blue "Download" button under "PPD Installer."
  5. Open the downloaded file, double-click on the .pkg file and follow the prompts until it is extracted to your drive.
  6. Open Apple Menu > System Preferences > Printers
  7. Click the (+) symbol at the lower right to add a printer.
  8. Click the globe at the top middle to add the printer by IP address.
  9. In the "Address" field, input the IP address of the printer (this may be on a sticker on the printer. If not, click the printer display to wake it up and then click "Check status" at the lower right to display the printer IP address.
  10. Leave "Internet Printing Protocol - IPP" selected - this option is appropriate for modern printers.
  11. The "Name" field will auto-fill with the IP address. You can edit this to something meaningful to you if you wish.
  12. The "Use" field is to select the driver to use. Click the dropdown and choose, "Select software" and pick your Ricoh model from the list (it will be there because of the drivers you installed above).
  13. Click "Add."
