Install a Ricoh printer on a managed (Nexus) computer (one where you log in with your Watiam credentials)
Windows 10
- Open the Windows Start menu. This is the button in the bottom left corner of your screen that is shaped like the Windows logo.
- Then click to Settings. This is the gear-shaped icon just above the power button in the Start menu.
- Then click on Devices.
- Next, select Printers & Scanners. You can find this in the left sidebar.
- Then click Add a Printer.
- Click “The printer that I want isn’t listed.” Once you select this, the “Add Printer” screen will pop up.
- Select a shared printer by name
- Enter \\printsrv\ and select your printer from the list. Printer hostnames are generally of the form <faculty shortform>-<building>-<room>-<optional letter in case there is more than one printer in the room>, so e.g. sci-phy-342-a
- If your Ricoh printer does not have managed accounting (i.e. need a code to print), you are all set and you can just print a test page.
- If your Ricoh printer *does* need a code to print, go back to Printers & scanners and choose the printer from the list there
- Select "Printer properties."
- On the Advanced Options tab, select "Job Type/Code Dialog Settings..."
- Check the box next to "Display [User Code] Dialog Before Printing"
- Click OK, then OK again.
- Now click "Print test page" and enter your code when the dialog comes up.
