Contribution to Humanity Award

Award criteria

The Faculty of Science established the Contribution to Humanity Award to honour and recognize significant service, contribution, and achievements of alumni. This prestigious award is bestowed upon alumni who demonstrate significant contribution(s) in one or more of the following areas, in recognition of their accomplishments:

  • Demonstrated accomplishments of Waterloo Science alumni in community impact, volunteerism, leadership, advocacy, or humanitarian endeavours.
  • Contributions to society including, but not limited to: Significant, sustained involvement, volunteerism, philanthropy, IDEA (inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility); Highly visible community service that is clearly recognized; Proven impact (could be local, regional, national, international); Promotion of Science.

Eligibility

Nominees must be a graduate of the University of Waterloo Faculty of Science undergraduate and/or graduate program(s).

This award can be bestowed on individuals or groups of two or more.

Nomination process

The Faculty of Science welcomes nominations for the Contribution to Humanity Award from alumni, students, staff, retirees and members of the public.

To nominate an alumnus for the Contribution to Humanity Award, a short online nomination form must be completed, including all mandatory fields, for an individual to be considered.
