Giving Tuesday

It's Here: Help Support Waterloo Science!

Giving Tuesday is an annual tradition of philanthropy happening IN ONE DAY where we all chip in to donate to some worthwhile funds that support our UW science students. All donations made on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 29th, 2022 will be counted towards our one day total!

Check out our Special Giving Tuesday Video and meet Jackson, our youngest Challenge Champion ever

Meet Jackson, an aspiring astrophysicist at the age of 7, joins Dr. Brian McNamara from the Waterloo Centre for Astrophysics in a discussion about black holes, planets and moon shops.

This year, we're excited to raise money to launch the new merit-based scholarship to help support Science and Business students. Please consider donating to the Future Horizons Fund. A big shout-out to program Director, Okey Igboeli, who is our 2022 Challenge Champion. Dr. Igboeli will donate $1000 once we reach 15 donors to this new fund. Let's help unlock $1000!

Who doesn't love learning about physics? This year, we hope to raise funds to support the Waterloo Centre for Astrophysics and their community outreach initiatives. Please consider donating to the Waterloo Centre for Astrophysics fund. Many thanks to the Chair of Physics and Astronomy, Dr. Brian McNamara who is our Challenge Champion. Once we raise $8000 for this fund, Dr. McNamara will unlock $1000.

What's age matter when you have the passion? Meet Jackson, the youngest EVER Challenge Champion in the history of UW's Giving Tuesday! Jackson loves supernovas, and is excited to to help the Waterloo Centre for Astrophysics bring their mobile planetarium to elementary and high schools. Jackson has donated the contents of his astronaut piggy bank and will be adding $11.57 once we raise $8000!
