At Grad Reception, graduating students and faculty/staff will have an opportunity to celebrate together our Science graduating class of 2021 as they prepare to graduate at the Spring or Fall convocation.

“MANY-BODY QED WITH ATOMS AND PHOTONS: A NEW FRONTIER FOR QUANTUM OPTICS”
We've partnered with Women in Engineering to get University of Waterloo community members access to a free screening of Picture A Scientist - a documentary raising visibility around gender bias and racism in science.
Following the film screening period, the Undergraduate Science Society will be hosting a discussion open to all students, faculty, and staff members who would like to share their thoughts.
The Fusion Conference merges knowledge from science, business, and technology fields through a unique theme each year. This year’s conference theme revolves around Advances and Emerging Opportunities in Financial Technology!

You're invited to Big Bang 2022! This is an event open to all undergraduate students within the Faculty of Science. Come for free ice cream starting at 4 PM in the STC Main Commons.
Then come to a talk with Dr. Abdel Lawendy in STC 1012 from 5 PM- 6 PM on Friday, September 23rd. Q+A to follow, here's your chance to ask an expert your questions.
Dr. Lawendy is a UWaterloo graduate who is the Chief of Trauma + Orthopedic surgery at Western. His journey includes working in places such as Pakistan, Gaza, Haiti and Yemen.
We would like to cordially invite you to an exhibition by Ukrainian students “War in life, life in war” hosted by Science Museums and Galleries from the Faculty of Science. On Wednesday, October 5th from 12:30-1:30 pm, Ukrainian students will attend the exhibit in the STC atrium to tell us stories about the resilience and resistance of Ukrainian people, show pictures from their hometowns and home universities, and share their first-hand experiences with the war being waged on their country by Russia. Coffee and Ukranian treats will be provided.
On November 21st, we are excited to host Anne Dagg, her daughter, and the exhibit creator for an informal discussion about Anne's experiences, the meaning behind the current exhibit pieces and poems in STC, and action we can take for a better future for Science. Join us at 4:00pm at STC 2001 (the study space on the 2nd floor) for hot drinks and pastries and an insightful chat. This is a free event and does not require registration.
