Students of the Science graduating class of 2020 are invited to join special Alumni guest Kelly Meissner (BSc '01); Science professors and staff; and Associate Deans of Science, as they offer congratulations, celebrate your achievements, and share inspiring words of advice as you prepare to graduate.
In the wake of COVID-19, many in the Waterloo community are overwhelmed with questions and uncertainty about the pandemic and its effects on our well-being, health and economy. University of Waterloo experts are available to share their knowledge and answer questions from the community.
The Town Hall is an opportunity for Science leadership to listen to concerns from our Science community on racism and discrimination of all forms, from overt acts to those more unconscious in nature. The goal is for us to gain a better understanding of the problems facing Black, Indigenous and People of Colour. We hope to provide our Science Anti-Racism Taskforce with sufficient directions to formulate mitigation strategies so we may work together to become an inclusive academic society without racism.
We are kicking off the biweekly biology semester series for fall term with the inimitable Dr. Clara Chan from the University of Delaware, with a talk this Friday titled "How microbes rust the Earth: Insights from field studies, culturing and ‘omics"

It's on! All alumni, students, friends and family are invited to join us online for the Amazing Science Race, a virtual race and scavenger hunt. You can participate on your own, or if you prefer, gather some friends or family members to round out your team.

Prof. Shawn Wettig, the Faculty of Science Associate Dean of Graduate Studies, will give the talk. After his presentation you will have the opportunity to ask him questions and then breakoff into rooms with our department admission coordinators to ask more specific questions.

With less than 3 weeks to the December 1st deadline, take advantage of resources prepared to help you succeed. Attend an info session with the Associate Dean Grad Studies, Shawn Wettig on Monday November 16th 3:00 pm. Learn who is available to help you with your application in the Faculty of Science including grad chairs/officers and proposal expert Kim Arnold.
