The Faculty of Science has been recognized for academic excellence in the 2024 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) subject rankings released by Shanghai Ranking Consultancy. Physics, water resources, and transportation science and technology ranked number one in Canada and placed in the top 50 globally. Chemistry is among the top five in Canada and Earth Sciences is within the top ten.
The annual ARWU rankings evaluate more than 1,900 universities in 96 countries across 55 subject areas. The results are based on five indicators: research output, research influence, international collaboration, research quality and academic awards.
