The Centre offers administrative support with ordering transcripts, official university letters, how to pay tuition, applying for financial aid, course enrolment, and record updates. Appointments are not required to receive service at The Centre (walk-ins are welcome and you can call or email us anytime).
1:1 Specialist Appointments are for students who have complex situations, have many questions or have a need for extra support.
Book an appointment on Portal to schedule time with a Student Service Specialist for extra one on one support.
Once the appointment has been booked on Portal, you will recieve an email asking you to confirm your appointment by filling in a webform. The webform will allow you to indicate whether you prefer an in-person or virtual appointment and will allow you to tell us a bit about the nature of your inquiry. The Specialist will use this information to prepare for your appointment so that we can provide the best service possible.
Service Canada is in The Centre several times during each term to assist students with issuing and renewing SINs. To book an appointment; drop by The Centre, call 519-888-4567, ext. 42268, or Book an appointment on Portal (same-day starting at 8am). Once your appointment is booked, an email confirmation will be sent to your UWaterloo email address.
Upcoming dates: Wednesday, May 10, 2023, Wednesday, June 7, 2023. Clinics take place between 9am and 4pm. Each appointment takes approximately 10 minutes.
A commissioner for taking affidavits, or commissioner of oaths, is authorized to take affidavits, oaths, declarations or sworn statements only if the document relates to University business. For example, a commissioner can take a declaration from a document-holder that s/he is presenting a true copy of a document held in his/her possession. A commissioner is also able to witness a signature on a document, including a letter of invitation for a Canadian visitor’s visa if it relates to University business, unless the entity issuing or requesting the document requires it to be notarized.
The Centre has two Commissioners for Taking Affidavits. Appointments must be booked directly with the commissioners by phone or email.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Office of Indigenous Relations.
