United College is honoured to announce that Savanah Seaton has joined our team as Shatitsirótha' Waterloo Indigenous Student Centre (WISC) Director.
United College would like to send a warm welcome to Rebecca Wagner who has joined us as the new Director of External Relations.
Coming into university, many students don’t feel as though they have a full understanding of their mental health and how to ensure they are taking care of it. Mental wellbeing is how well a person can cope with the stresses, changes, and happenings of day-to-day life.
Flu season is upon us and it happens to coincide with the busiest part of our student’s semesters. Going into their exam season, it can be difficult to take extra time out of their day to get off campus and find a way to a pharmacy to receive their flu shots. But that doesn’t take away from the importance they see in protecting themselves and their community.
We write to you today on behalf of the College to express our solidarity with all Muslim members of the St. Paul’s community. We condemn the recent murder of four members of a Muslim family in London and are appalled by the hatred and bigotry that engendered it. Those of us who live, work and study at St. Paul’s regard its diversity as one of its primary strengths. We are pleased that our community includes many Muslim members and we want them to know that they have our full support in these difficult days.
St. Paul’s University College is very proud to announce the appointment of the Right Honorable Michaëlle Jean, 27th Governor General of Canada, as Chancellor, for a three-year term starting immediately.
“We are delighted to have someone of Mme. Jean’s talent and stature take on the role of Chancellor,” said Brad Siim, incoming Board Chair. “Her interests and values align beautifully with those of our College.”
Andrea Santi (BES ’12) loves basketball. The sport has been a part of her life for as long as she can remember. She plays, she refs and she’s even a time-keeper for the KW Titans of the semi-pro National Basketball League of Canada. She is also a massive supporter of the Toronto Raptors.
Congratulations are in order for young alumnus and former St. Paul’s employee André Moreau for completing a double degree in Law at McGill with distinction.
“It’s not about me,” says Gary Foerster, newly appointed Chair of St. Paul’s Board of Governors. “It’s about St. Paul’s and its exciting future.”
For Foerster, that exciting future is all about the vibrant student community at the College.
