The 34th GreenHouse Social Impact Showcase, held last Wednesday at United College, brought together over 50 community members and social innovators from across the University of Waterloo and the broader community. The event highlighted student entrepreneurs committed to tackling pressing global and local challenges, with four standout ventures receiving funding to propel their initiatives forward.

United College at the University of Waterloo recently hosted its highly anticipated March Open House 2025, and once again it was an incredible success.

With over 90 tours throughout the day, the excitement was undeniable as future students, including many Grade 11s, explored all that United College has to offer.

The early-stage ventures of Indigenous entrepreneurs are set to receive a boost through a $50,000 donation from Scotiabank to United College at the University of Waterloo. This contribution will help Indigenous entrepreneurs transform their ideas into sustainable realities.

The Green Innovation Gathering (GIG) in Brandon, Manitoba, recently brought together students, educators, and community leaders to tackle environmental challenges through hands-on innovation. Hosted at Assiniboine Community College, the event empowered young minds to develop solutions for real-world sustainability issues in their community.

United College at the University of Waterloo recently held its annual Fall Open House on Saturday, November 9^th, 2024, and from all reports it was a resounding success. The Open House, which drew a diverse crowd of prospective students and their families, exceeded expectations, offering an engaging introduction to the College's unique community, residences, minor programs, and resources.

United College was recently recognized with the inaugural “Award for Outstanding Contributions to Inclusive Venture Creation and Community Engagement” at the Canadian Council for Small Business & Entrepreneurship's (CCSBE) 42^nd Annual Conference in Calgary.

Hundreds recently came out to the annual Ride for Refuge event, in support of refugees as they build their lives in Canada. This event was in partnership with Reception House, a non-profit organization providing assistance to government-assisted refugees. Those who attended were in good company, as they joined thousands of participants across Canada who took part in similar initiatives to raise funds for the cause.
