Waterloo alumni event with exclusive documentary pre-screening
Waterloo's Faculty of Applied Health Sciences invites the AHS community to an exclusive screening of the new documentary The Cola Road, featuring the work of AHS grad Rohit Ramchandani (BSc ’04) with ColaLife. Rohit is also an adjunct faculty member in the School of Public Health and Health Systems
The documentary’s filmmaker Claire Ward, former associate editor at Maclean’s magazine, will introduce the film and Rohit, founder and principal at Antara Global Health Advisors and post-doctoral candidate at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, will speak about his project that inspired the film.
About the film:
For years, it has baffled visitors to developing countries: Coca-Cola is everywhere, but basic medicines are not. This year, Zambia has become the first African country to embrace ColaLife, an innovative team of social entrepreneurs that aims to use Coca-Cola’s distribution model to deliver life-saving medicines to farflung, rural communities. Follow ColaLife on the road as they attempt to launch the system for the first time.
