Students panelists present an overview on the direct and indirect impacts of climate change on aquatic ecosystem structure and health, cyanobacteria bloom dynamics and the implementation of modern molecular techniques in understanding the risk of toxin production in cyanobacteria populations and assessment of water quality. The impacts of climate change on public health: Opportunities to mitigate risk

Climate change exacerbates public health risks in various ways, and thus holistic risk management approaches are needed. Student panelists will propose risk management approaches for mitigation of public health impacts through the development of frameworks and best management practices, exploring transmission pathways of disease, and implementation of green technologies.

University of Waterloo Virtual Conference on Aging, COVID-19 and the Adoption of Health Technology

This free virtual event takes place over two afternoons and examines the promise and limits of technology to promote successful longevity by featuring a diverse group of leaders. Speakers include aging and technology researchers, clinicians and frontline workers, members of advocacy groups, policymakers, technology officers from industry and visionaries that have implemented innovative models for supporting older adults.
