Indigenous Speakers Series: Lee Maracle with Bill Coleman

Lee Maracle is a member of the Sto:Loh Nation. Her works include the novels, Ravensong, Bobbi Lee, and Sundogs; short story collection, Sojourner’s Truth; poetry collection, Bentbox; and non-fiction work I Am Woman.

Bill Coleman is a choreographer and performer whose work has transcended traditional theatrical settings to include mountain tops, rainforests, prairies and urban construction sites.

Thrive Week

Thrive is a week-long series of events focused on building positive mental health for University of Waterloo students, faculty, and staff. Thrive is also a mindset that encourages you to flourish.

The fall main events will be hosted the week of October 22 – 26 and will feature An Evening with Michael Landsberg, events from Athletics and Recreation, a Student Mental Health Forum, a Walk for Mental Health around Ring Road, and Mental Health Training opportunities.

Exploring Blockchain in Waterloo Region

This event forms the first gathering of the new IEEE (the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) Blockchain Initiatives Group by local IEEE members. Your attendance will help support the development of the speakers bureau on blockchain applications and technologies in Waterloo Region.Attendees will hear from academia and industry speakers, followed by a networking reception.

Applications open for Sustainability Action Fund

The Sustainability Action Fund (SAF) supports projects and initiatives that improve sustainability at the University of Waterloo. Project funds are distributed based on a call for applications, with successful applications determined by the President’s Advisory Committee on Environmental Sustainability (PACES) and its subcommittee.

Any staff, students, or faculty member on campus may apply to the Sustainability Action Fund to advance a project idea that advances the directions of Waterloo's Environmental Sustainability Strategy.

Co-op Prep Session #1

The CFM program will have Co-op Prep Session #1 for first year students. This information session will cover all the general co-op information such as co-op schedule, interview process, and resume tips. Food will be provided. 

If you are a first year student, this is a great chance for you to prepare for the upcoming co-op term in winter. A student panel will be presented at the information session to answer all the questions you may for co-op.
