Justin Wan

Co-Director and Professor at the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science

Professor Justin Wan is a faculty member of the SciCom group in the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science, University of Waterloo. He received his Ph.D. degree in Applied Mathematics from University of California, Los Angeles, in 1998. He was a Tier II Canada Research Chair in Scientific Computing.

James Thompson

Co-Director and Associate Professor at the School of Accounting and Finance

Education: Bachelors in Computer Science and Economics at University of Western Ontario (2002), Masters in Economics (Finance Specialization) at Queen’s University (2003), PhD in Economics, Queen’s University (2008).

Heather Shaw

Computing and Financial Management Program Manager
Heather Shaw began working with CFM in 2017 as the new Program Manager. In her role, Heather helps future students navigate the admissions process, supports current students with their academic planning and program engagement, and networks with alumni to keep them connected.

Emily Radcliffe

Program and Recruitment Associate

Emily Radcliffe is the Program and Recruitment Associate Co-op student for the Fall 2020 term. Her role includes  assisting in the planning and execution of events, answering student inquires, and administrative support. In addition to these responsibilities, she also manages school website content by refreshing and updating the CFM webpage.

George Labahn

Co-Director and Professor

Born: Elmshorn, Germany. In Canada since I was 5 years old.


Education: Studied Computer Science at the University of Alberta, completed PhD in 1988.
