You’re about to finish your course work or comprehensive exams and have started to think about writing your thesis or dissertation. Where do you begin?
This full-day workshop, sponsored by GRADventure, will guide early stage graduate students through some of the first phases of planning and writing a thesis or dissertation.
During interactive sessions throughout the day, the Writing and Communication Centre, the Library, the Office of Research Ethics, and other campus partners will offer sessions designed to provide resources, strategies and information to make beginning your thesis or dissertation less daunting. This workshop day will cover topics such selecting a research topic, structuring your thesis or dissertation, writing a literature review, conducting research with integrity and knowing when ethics clearance is necessary, and using strategies for finding and recording research sources.
