Position Advertisement: English Undergraduate Communications Requirement (EUCR) Support Person (two positions, one per term)
Open to: All English graduate students, whether in or out of funding.
Terms: Fall 2025 (starting Nov. 1) and Winter 2026
Number of hours: 70 hours per term. The number of hours per week during the term will vary. Weekly hours for the positions will be determined based on instructor need and in conjunction with the Associate Chair, EUCR.
Location: This is a position that will require on-campus availability as well as online work.
Position supervisor: Megan Selinger, Associate Chair, EUCR
Purpose and Tasks: Engineering programs associated with UCR courses are undergoing program assessments in the upcoming year associated with accreditation. English UCR instructors teaching Engineering students will need to collect extensive data for the assessments over the fall 2025 and winter 2026 terms, and the EUCR chair will be participating in forwarding and reporting on that data. The EUCR support person will assist instructors with data collection and will support the Associate Chair, EUCR, with organizing and reporting on that data.
In addition to the data collection tasks, the support person may be assigned to help with other pedagogically related tasks, including logistical support for science or engineering communication showcases, running student focus groups, online and in-person event promotion, and development of an onboarding website for EUCR instructors.
