The Faculty of Environment invites you to attend a special Speakers Series on Decolonizing Methodologies for Respectful Sustainability Research this fall. Sessions will take place during the last week of each month. The first session, featuring Dr. Ranjan Datta from Mount Royal University Calgary, is on Sept 29 from 12- 1:30 pm. 

What exactly does a consultant do and how do you get into the field? Join ERS grad, Mariam Gill, to learn about her career as a Sustainability and Climate Change consultant and insights and resources on networking, mentorship, career planning and more. 

Join planning alumnus, Chris Rickett as he shares insights from his work leading the City of Toronto’s economic response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Chris will highlight how in the early days of the pandemic, public servants had to adapt quickly and come together to collaborate on solutions that could be rapidly implemented.

If a career in politics or the public sector interests you, join KI alumnus Matthew Klassen, as he shares insights on getting your foot in the door, evaluating opportunities, navigating job changes and how the pandemic has affected public policy.

No matter what sector you work in, climate change will affect it. Join alumnus, Suzanne Seiling (Perdeaux) to find out how to incorporate climate change education into your field.

Join renowned Professor Julian Agyeman for a conversation on challenges and opportunities facing PhD students from different backgrounds, including thesis work, publishing, job applications, career trajectories and other topics relevant to PhD students in the Faculty of Environment. 

Dr. Agyeman will begin the session with a reflection on his own PhD studies and career trajectory, followed by ample time for questions and open discussions. This session is open to all current PhD students and post-doctoral students in the Faculty of Environment.
