Waterloo News shared a summary of "Development and validation of the player experience inventory", co-developed by Professor Lennart Nacke as part of an international collaboration, led by Prof. Dr. Vero Vanden Abeele, KU Leuven, Belgium, and also including Prof. dr. Kathrin Gerling of KU Leuven, Belgium, Prof. Dr. Daniel Johnson of Queensland University of Technology, Australia and Dr. Katta Spiel, University of Waterloo.

Originally published in the International Journal of Human-Computer Studies, the article presents a novel, concise, and open-source scale that game designers can use to get feedback on player experiences.

This is the first developer resource to provide a breakdown of the dimensions of player experience and to condense this knowledge into a practical tool available for any game designer to use.
