Tina Chan, Public Health and Health Systems MSc candidate, appeared on CBC The National on September 6th, speaking about school-related stress and mental health struggles. Chan is the creator of the Panic Anxiety & Stress Support kit (PASS kit), designed to assist students in managing stress and destigmatize stress-related mental illnesses.
The mission of the PASS kit is to become a form of first aid kit for mental health with a “back-to-basics” approach by focusing on “Evidence-based tangible tools which can support someone 24/7, glitch free". Related to the purpose of the PASS kit, Chan's research looks at how gameful systems can promote Peer-to-Peer support for stress, anxiety, and depression, to augment professional mental health support.
