Do you have an idea for an initiative that may directly or indirectly affect health, on topics such as Indigeneity, equity, diversity, inclusion, or anti-racism?
The Faculty of Health Dean’s Advisory Committee on Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Anti-Racism (EDI-R) invites you to submit a proposal for an original initiative that will promote a supportive EDI-R culture in the Faculty of Health (and beyond).
Objectives
We encourage students, staff and faculty to embrace their creativity to promote EDI-R in our Faculty of Health community. The overarching objectives of this EDI-R Seed Fund program are to, within the Faculty of Health:
- Create safe, supportive and inclusive spaces and activities,
- Identify and overcome barriers to equitable participation among students, staff and faculty,
- Foster learning and unlearning that support EDI-R, and
- Develop opportunities to support belonging and well-being.
The Advisory Committee aims to support activities with impact across different students, staff, faculty and across a breadth of topics (Disability, LGBTQ+ and Gender Identity, Mental Health, Race). Please note, any activities involving Indigenous participants must document support from the Office of Indigenous Relations at UWaterloo in the application.
The Advisory Committee will consider activities that involve community building, advocacy, research, education, events (or engagements and experiences) and outreach that benefit a supportive EDI-R culture in Health.
Do you have an idea that could support these objectives? Be a change-maker and apply!
