About Rebecca

After graduating from the Therapeutic Recreation coop program at UW, I completed my Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. I have worked in private and public Speech-Language Pathology settings over the past 10 years of my career. My practice philosophy was most significantly impacted by my 5-year experience as the Speech-Language Pathologist on an Indigenous territory. I learned a lot about being client and family centered and prioritizing the client experience and client's expert status on their own preferences, health, experience and learning styles.

I now own my own Speech-Language Pathology practice in Burlington, Ontario where I strive to provide client and family centered care that puts client experience and preferences at the forefront of our interactions. I love working with children and their families to support communication success. It means so much to me to be a part of their communication journeys. I love it when children don't want to leave a session or when a parents says "It's time to go already? That went so fast." I'm very interested in moving my field forward in integrating nature-based approaches to health and education into Speech-Language Pathology practice.
