Join Elder Myeengun Henry for a Ceremonial Fire on Monday, July 25, on the lawn (Finn Green) of St. Jerome's University. This ceremony will allow for time to come together and reflect on the potential for healing and reconciliation between the Catholic Church and Indigenous people in Canada. The event coincides with the Pope’s visit to Canada where it is hoped he will offer an apology for the Catholic Church’s role in the residential school system in Canada.
Schedule of events:
10:30 a.m. - Ceremonial Fire - Finn Green
11:15 a.m. - Light refreshments
11:45 a.m. - Gather for livestreaming of Pope's meeting with Indigenous peoples
1:00 p.m. - Closing Sharing Circle
Parking is available in Lot A or B and visitors can enter off Westmount Rd.
