Almost a year ago February 24, Russia invaded Ukraine, causing the biggest war in the middle of Europe since World War II, breaking the lives of millions of people and destroying their homes and civilian infrastructure. The Ukrainian Photo Exhibit was created by Ukrainian students of UWaterloo to raise awareness and highlight the impact that the war in Ukraine is having on academics and civilians. Students show how people from Ukraine are standing, showing incredible resilience and resistance in the face of a cruel enemy. They want to share how they are continuing to live, love and hope even in war conditions. Students will share their personal stories aiming to show that fighting for freedom and democracy isn't easy.

The Ukrainian Photo Exhibit will be on display in the EXP building foyer from January 28 to February 9, 2023, and we encourage you to visit it and show your support.

We invite you to attend the Ukrainian Photo Exhibit event in the EXP Foyer on February 9, 2023, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. where Ukrainian students will share first-hand experiences with the war in their country. You can experience VR tours of Ukraine before and after the full-scale war, enjoy Ukrainian culture and have some snacks.
