Two Kinesiology professors are among 10 researchers at the University of Waterloo who will receive $792,614 for infrastructure to support research.
The funds are awarded through the John R. Evans Leaders Fund (JELF) by the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI), and will provide researchers with the foundational research infrastructure necessary to lead in their field.
The Honourable Kirsty Duncan, Minister of Science, made the funding announcement in Sudbury yesterday.
The Kinesiology researchers receiving funding through the JELF awards are:
Michaela Devries-Aboud (Kinesiology): Muscle Metabolism in Health and Disease ($109,000)
Monica Maly (Kinesiology): Therapeutic Exercise to Promote Health for Older Adults with Arthritis ($100,782)
