What I like best about my program is the sense of community!
My favourite part about Kinesiology is that I like that my program allowed me to choose a minor that was best suited to my career interests and goals.
From volunteering in kinesiology labs, participating in lab studies, dissecting cadavers for the School of Anatomy, and working with varsity athletes - there are so many ways to get involved in the Kinesiology community and have fun at the same time!
I like that in the first two years of Kinesiology, you're introduced to different areas of the field and get to learn a little bit about everything.
I like how my program gives me a base of knowledge for a variety of Kinesiology topics before letting us pick our own scope of focus within the field. I also enjoy the hands-on labs in the first couple of years.
I love the fact that I am able to share what I’m learning about human health, function, and movement to those around me in a practical and relevant way.
I love how flexible Waterloo Kinesiology is! The first two years are packed with foundational courses, but then I can tailor my degree my way with the amount of electives we get in upper years.
I love the flexibility Kinesiology provides in terms of electives and integration with other courses!
I like how tight-knit the Applied Health Sciences (AHS) community is as a whole. From professors, laboratory instructors, and of course, fellow students within the AHS community, they are all friendly, approachable, and welcoming, making university an enjoyable experience.
My favourite parts of being in Kinesiology are the people that I have met, the opportunities outside of the classroom to have unique experiences, and the course content.
My favourite part about Kinesiology is the freedom that I have to take courses that I am interested in and that will help me in my future career goals!
My program is amazing because it combines a basic foundation in science and math to various aspects of human health and how it impacts physical activity. It is the perfect pre-med pathway for me since it combines those necessary sciences with things that I am passionate about - nutrition, exercise, and wellbeing!
I really enjoy the hands-on, applicable, and interactive aspect of the Kinesiology program here at Waterloo.
I love that my program is filled with really friendly staff and students! There are so many great ways to meet people on campus (even online), and the AHS community is great for making new connections!
My favourite thing about Kinesiology is the tight-knit community. Students and faculty are always approachable and supportive!
I chose my program for the wide variety of classes it has to offer me. I knew that studying Kinesiology here at Waterloo would allow me to learn from many different aspects of the sciences such as biomechanics, neuroscience, and ergonomics before having to decide which of them I wanted to go more into for studying and a future career.
I love how Kinesiology offers a variety of courses that match my interest and can help me with my career path. I personally love the lab courses because they are very interactive and provide a lot of hands-on experience.
