The Green Bench is a symbol of elder wisdom. The bench invites us all to sit alongside an older adult or Elder, and share a conversation or insights.
Schlegel Villages has donated an #ElderWisdom bench to the Faculty of Health. The bench is part of a communication campaign fighting ageism. It challenges the stigma seniors sometimes face and reminds us of the wealth of wisdom our Elders offer.
The Faculty of Health #ElderWisdom bench will provide opportunities for teaching and learning outside the classroom. It will be a visual representation of the importance of sharing the knowledge and experience of the people we consider our Elders because of age, or because they are Indigenous Elders.
Sharing the wisdom
The Faculty of Health invites other Faculties and groups on campus to borrow the bench for their programs. There is no rental cost.
To book please complete the #ElderWisdom Bench booking form.
The requestor is also responsible for booking Plant Operations to retrieve the bench from the Faculty of Health and deliver to your location and to then return the bench to the original location in the Faculty of Health. All delivery and program costs are the responsibility of the requestor.
