Four to five weeks into the term, we’ll reach out and ask you to complete our eCheckIn form for each student you’ve hired. You’ll need to answer two questions on the form:
- Is your student meeting your expectations for the role?
- Do you have any comments questions or concerns?
The eCheckIn form should take approximately two minutes to complete. By checking in, we can begin to assess whether a work term is off to a strong start and determine how we can support you if needed.
Steps to complete the eCheckIn form:
- We send an email, with a unique link for each student, to the contact listed on your work term record.
- The student’s name is in the email subject line. For multiple students, we send you one email with a unique link per student.
- You can forward this email to the student's supervisor or update the contact information on your work term record.
- The co-op students’ supervisor or work term contact does not need a WaterlooWorks account to complete the eCheckIn form.
- Click the unique link in the email to navigate to the eCheckIn form.
- A WaterlooWorks login is not required to complete the form. However, you will need to log in with a WaterlooWorks if you need to make edits to the form after completion.
- If you indicate that your student is not meeting your expectations, we will follow up to support you and your student.
At the end of your work term, you’ll need to complete a formal student performance evaluation for each student. Students will not receive credit for their work term at your organization if you do not submit their student performance evaluation.
