Are you a current graduate student looking to support new students and share your experiences? Join the Math Graduate Mentorship Program as a peer mentor! 

Why Become a Mentor? 

As a mentor, you will: 

  • Make a Difference: Help new students navigate their graduate journey. 

  • Develop Leadership Skills: Enhance your communication, mentoring, and interpersonal skills. 

  • Build Connections: Expand your network within the graduate community. 

  • Give Back: Share your knowledge and experiences to support others. 

Responsibilities of a Mentor 

  • Commit to being available for your mentee during the term. 

  • Provide guidance on navigating graduate life, campus resources, and academic challenges. 

  • Maintain regular communication with your mentee.

How to Apply 

Complete the Mentor Application Form 

The application form will ask for: 

  • Your name and contact details 

  • Your current term: you must have completed at least 1 term at Waterloo 

  • Your graduate program and research interests 

  • Your availability and preferences for mentees (e.g., similar research area, shared hobbies, etc.) 

  • Any specific areas of expertise or topics you can assist with 

Confidentiality: All information shared in the application will be stored in a secured space and will only be accessed by the administrators of this program.
