About Us:

Black in Math (BiM@Waterloo) aims to connect students in the Faculty of Mathematics who identify as Black.

We host several events each term focused on building community, fostering a sense of belonging, and supporting students as they learn how to thrive in mathematics courses and beyond. Established in 2026, Black in Math (BiM) creates welcoming spaces through social events, academic support, and shared experiences, where students can meet peers, build friendships, share experiences, and feel supported as they grow both academically and personally within the Faculty of Mathematics.

Black in Math (BiM) is excited to partner with Women in Math (WiM) and Pride Factors for Pizza Piazza on September 17 from 3:30–4:30 p.m. in MC 5501! Join us to connect with fellow undergraduate math students, create your own fridge magnet, and enjoy free pizza. This event is open to women and gender-diverse undergraduate math students.
