Imagine having only 1 static slide and 3 minutes to explain the breadth and significance of your research to a non-specialist audience. The Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition asks research-based master's and doctoral students to do just that.
First established in 2008 by the University of Queensland, 3MT is now a prestigious international research communication competition that cultivates students' presentation and communication skills and provides them with invaluable networking opportunities.
Since 2011, the popularity of the competition has increased and 3MT competitions are now held in over 600 universities and institutions across 65 countries worldwide. At the University of Waterloo, 3MT winners also have the potential to win thousands of dollars in prizes.
Join us March 6 at 2pm in DC 1302 for the Math Faculty 3MT Heat! The winner will be entered in the university-wide competition on March 20 for the chance to advance to the provincial level.
