Virtual Advising

First-year, Math Studies and Undeclared advisors are available for 15-minute virtual appointments; all times are Eastern Daylight Time (EDT). 

Virtual advising is available:
  • Mondays from 10:30 am to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
  • Tuesdays from 8:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Wednesdays from 8:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
  • Thursdays from 8:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. 
  • Fridays from 8:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. 
  • Excluding university closures due to holidays.

If you are having trouble with our virtual advising system, some things to know:

  • We are using Microsoft Teams which is available as part of Microsoft 365.
  • You need to log in with your [watiam user id]@uwaterloo.ca email and password to access the booking page.
  • You can find the link in your confirmation email or in your Outlook calendar.

In-person Advising

First-year, Math Studies and Undeclared advising is also available in-person for the Winter 2024 term in MC 4019A.

In-person advising is available:

  • Tuesdays from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Wednesdays from 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
  • Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Fridays from 11:00 p.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 2:00pm to 3:30 p.m.
  • Excluding university closures due to holidays.

Please note the following important information:

  • In-person advising is available by appointment only. Appointments are 15 minutes.
  • You need to log in with your [watiam user id]@uwaterloo.ca email and password to access the booking page.
  • Students are asked to bring their watcards with them to their in-person appointment.
  • To avoid congestion students are asked to arrive no more than a few minutes prior to the start of their appointment.
  • Students can wait in the hall outside MC 4019A until the advisor on duty brings them into the advising room, MC 4019A.
