Interpersonal Communication

SPCOM 100 The course helps you develop effective interpersonal communication skills in multiple contexts (including with family, friends, and coworkers). Through classroom discussion, presentations, and scheduled weekly meetings with a partner to practice and reflect upon principles learned in course readings, you will build awareness of your role and of power in communication, particularly regarding self-concept, perception, listening, and conflict management, as well as verbal, nonverbal, and emotional expression.
