Joy Jiang, a PhD graduate from the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science at the University of Waterloo, has been named one of Forbes’s “30 Under 30” for health care in this year’s “30 Under 30” rankings.
Jiang, who graduated from Waterloo in 2018, is now an assistant professor at the Washington University School of Medicine In St. Louis.
Jiang’s research focuses on “developing statistical methods for precision oncology with a direct focus on breast cancer.” She is especially interested in addressing racial disparities in the medical field and helping improve statistical models to accurately reflect the experiences of women of various races.
