Snapcommerce ranked number one on 2021 Deloitte Canada Technology Fast 50

Snapcommerce, a company founded by two Waterloo Faculty of Mathematics graduates, has been ranked top of the Canada Technology Fast 50 by Deloitte.

The annual rankings by the consulting and accounting firm recognize world-class achievements of Canadian technology companies in their commitment to innovation, leadership and rapid revenue growth.

Snapcommerce is a message-driven commerce platform that uses AI to connect consumers to promotions on mobile devices. The company projects that in 2021 it will cross $1 billion in total mobile sales on its platforms.

The company was co-founded by Hussein Fazal, who completed a BMath in computer science, and Henry Shi, who completed a BCS in computer science and economics.

Across the various categories of Delloite’s Fast 50 for 2021 are more than a dozen companies linked to Waterloo and include several with graduates from the Faculty of Mathematics, such as BitBuy, Flexiti Financial and Later.com.
