Fall 2014 - Exchange

HONG KONG - Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST)

For me, exchange to Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) was like giving myself a term off and having some rest.

I am a regular student and haven't taken any term off since I studied in UW. As the CS course getting harder and harder, I thought that I should take some rest. But I don't want to just stay at home and watch cartoon or play games all day. So, exchange seems to be a perfect choice. Since we only need to pass the courses taken at the Host University to get transfer credits.  So I won't feel too much stressed. Well, courses at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) were not that easy as I thought.  So studying hard is necessary to pass the course.

Going on exchange also made me care more about politics. Even Hong Kong has returned China for more than 10 years; there are still lots of politic problems unsolved.

Recommendation for future students:

If you feel confused or stressed or just simply want to have some rest, you should try doing an exchange. It's fun to learn different culture, eat delicious food and make new friends. This world is so beautiful because of its diversity,
