  1. June 3, 2021MME prof one of "most influential" in smart manufacturing
    professor Vlasea

    Congratulations to Mihaela Vlasea for her accomplishments and continued aspirations as Smart Manufacturing magazine named her one of the 20 most influential academics. Mihaela was instrumental in helping to open the doors of her metal additive manufacturing lab to companies interested in trying out the advanced technology. Her focus is on metal additive manufacturing, with a sub-focus on binder jetting and powder bed fusion. Read more on the FOE news page

  2. May 17, 2021MME research team earns 2021 Catalyst Grant 
    The logo for Network for Aging Research

    Research team consisting of Bronwyn Forrest, Paolo Dominelli and Beth Weckman were recently granted a 2021 Catalyst Grant from the Network for Aging Research. They are one of five teams who received the 2021 Catalyst Grant this Spring. The funding is given to study specific concerns related to the impact of fire gases and smoke on the ability of elderly and mobility impaired occupants to egress from burning structures.

  3. May 17, 2021MME professor awarded the Dougal Drysdale Award for Exceptional Service

    Beth Weckman, an MME professor, was recently awarded the Dougal Drysdale Award for Extraordinary Service to the International Association of Fire Safety Science in organizing the 13th IAFSS Symposium twice. Professor Weckman organized the 2020 symposium in person and this year, 2021, virtually.
