What is the Futures Forum?
The Futures Forum is a day-long event centred around a tone-setting keynote speaker, while also including networking opportunities, and breakout sessions on timely and relevant topics topics, and lunch.
Continuing the legacy of the School of Planning’s yearly Pragma Conference, the Futures Forum takes the Pragma Council’s goal of constructive critical discussion on timely issues and opens it to a wider audience. This event aims to create a diverse and inclusive environment where issues relevant to the Planners of tomorrow can be discussed amongst the UWaterloo student body, industry professionals and politicians.
The name Futures Forum signals our focus on the future, highlighting topics that will remain relevant for years to come, including the following:
- The climate crisis
- Impacts of economic restructuring
- Planning for aging communities
- The effects of shifting technology on society
- And more!
