The School of Planning Graduation Celebration is an important tradition in the School as we give our graduates a memorable farewell and the opportunity to gather once more with classmates, staff and faculty.
An invitation to this event is extended in early spring to all upcoming graduates.
The School of Planning is proud to offer its students a School Ring! The ring was originally designed by three students in the first graduating class in 1969.
The ring is available to all graduating undergraduate and graduate students in latinum and is to be worn on the small finger.
A description of the symbols on the ring are:
- The frame of the symbol is a rectangle to indicate that a planner should always be concerned with their total environment and constantly look outward in all directions to see what is needed in their external environment.
- Within the rectangle is the ancient and traditional Chinese marriage symbol, representing the marriage of theory and practice. While they are not necessarily combined, both theory and practice must go hand in hand in the daily work of a professional planner.
- The arrow, representing the focus of the planner's attention, symbolizes the implementation skills of a planner, emerging from the support by this marriage of theory and practice.
If you are interested in obtaining a ring, you are requested to place an order with the WStore before March 1, 2024. For inquiries into ring orders beyond this deadline, please contact the W Store via email.
