Waterloo’s co-operative education (co-op) program is a great solution if you are interested in BES (Planning – Honours Co-op) students to support your operations. Our undergraduates know Planning – they take more than 25 courses that examine many aspects of Planning practice (e.g., land use planning, urban design, environmental planning, planning law, etc.). On top of that, they gain valuable work experience through the co-op program.
Waterloo’s BES (Planning) program is unique in Canada – every student participates in the co-op program. Our students complete up to five work terms during their studies with availability in the fall, winter and spring terms. They gain Planning experience in public, private or non-profit organizations in Canada and overseas. The co-op program makes them “job ready” by the time they complete their degree with almost two years of paid work experience.
For further information about co-op opportunities in Planning, please contact our co-operative education representative, Kathryn Fedy, by email at k4king@uwaterloo.ca or call 519-888-4567 x36429.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Office of Indigenous Relations.
